Carafe made of clear glass with a bulged stand and narrowed straight neck, cut bottom star, silver fitting over the upper area of the neck piece, volute-shaped handle, which is also attached at the lower end by a ring-shaped band around the carafe neck, covered curved spout, hinged stepped vaulted lid, three-dimensional lion with a coat of arms as a thumb rest. Dimensions: height: 28.0 cm / 11.02 in width: 16.0 cm / 6.29 in depth: 13.0 cm / 5.11 in Hallmarks: Lion passant - England, Sterling silver 925 Leopard head - City mark of London Date letter 'l' for 1906-1907 'H W & Co Ld.' in quatrefoil - master's brand of Horace Woodward & Co Ltd., active Mid 19th to early 20th century Condition: very well maintained, silver cleaned and polished, glass completely intact.
