Hawkes Sterling Vase

About the Item

T.G. Hawkes founded what was probably this country’s most successful factory devoted exclusively to the cutting of glass. It certainly had the longest period of operation of any cutting shop. Over the next 82 years they created the most magnificent cut-glass and acid-etched glass in the world. They also combined their glasswork with sterling silver to create this beautiful combination. Here is a perfect example of one such piece by Hawkes. This vase has a sterling base and both cut and acid etched glass vase. Flowers with garlands drape the body while above and below symmetrical designs decorate it. A extra large opening allows for flowers to fill-in comfortably.
