Head of Minerve 1st titre for 950/1000 French sterling silver guarantee for the flatware set. Table knife set with ebony handles, sterling silver ferrules and collars. The blades are steel and are marked "CH. M Paris". One of the most remarkable set of antique ebony set we've ever bring you submit. Handles of the flatware set have fantastic decoration in the Renaissance style on a stippled background on one side and decorated with mascaron and foliage on the other side. Both design and quality of workmanship are exceptional, and its manufacture would have necessitated many more hours work than usual. This flatware set and the knives are presented in storage chest and his original boxes with compartments for each piece. This complete set consists of a seven pieces place setting for 12 with an additional piece: Dinner spoons, dinner forks, dinner knives, dessert/entremet spoons, dessert/entremet forks, dessert / entremet knife, tea/coffee spoons and soup ladle. Prestigious silversmith: Henin & cie. 77 rue des Archives, Paris, was active august 7, 1896. Suffice it to say that the family Henin was active in the silversmithing since October 4, 1861 to glimpse the importance of this manufactory! A master silversmith made a complete cleaning and polishing. The knives have over 120 years of age! No cracks or repairs. This type of blades is no longer manufactured today and highly sought after by connoisseurs, they have been fully cleaned, polished and sharpened by a master cutler. The original boxes show some signs of their age.
