Large Victorian Sterling Silver Turtle with Seashell Salt Cellar, J.E. Caldwell

About the Item

Large, Victorian, sterling silver salt cellar (that can be used as a sauce dish or trinkets dish) J.E. Caldwell and Co., Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Ca. 1895. Salt cellar is in the form of a turtle as its base carrying a seashell on its back. Measures 5 inches deep (at deepest point) x 4 inches wide (at widest point) x 3 inches high (at highest point). The turtle base is beautifully detailed as is the seashell on its back. The edge of the seashell is decorated with sea waves. Weighs 7.135 troy ounces. Dark spots on the silver are reflections. In excellent antique condition.
