Late 19th Century Tea Spoon Set - Sterling Silver - Gaston Bardiés Paris
About the Item
A beautiful set of 12 sterling silver teaspoons, accompanied by a tea strainer and sugar tongs.
The inside of the spoons is gilded (vermeille).
The silverwork is done in an incredibly good way. Very detailed and refined. The nice thing is that the set is complete with the original box.
All spoons are provided with a silver mark (Minerva), and the makers mark as wel. This is the initials G.B. with a French Lilly (Fleur de Lys) in the middle. This is for the French silversmith Gaston Bardiés, who was active in Paris (13 Rue des Fontaines) from 1897 until 1914.
All spoons are in good condition. No cracks and no bends. One of the two closures of the box is missing.
The teaspoons are 12.5 cm
The tea strainer is 13.5 cm
The sugar tongs are 11 cm
