Neoclassical, American coin silver (.900) Medallion mug/cup, Ca. 1840's-1850's. Neoclassical image of a man is on one side of the mug; a Neoclassical image of a woman is on the other side. Cartouche has a lovely script inscription: BK from AK. Measures 3 inches high x 2 3/4 inches diameter x almost 4 inches from outer edge of cup to outer edge of handle. Opening is 2 3/4 inches in diameter. Weighs 3.625 Troy ounces. There are some very minor dints (see photos) that are commensurate with age and use. Dark areas on silver are reflections. In very good antique condition.
