Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Empire Style Three-Light Candelabra

A magnificent, fine and impressive pair of antique Victorian English sterling silver three-light candelabra made in the Empire style, an addition to our ornamental silverware collection. These exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver candelabra have a classical square form to a knopped column onto a stepped swept square foot, in the Empire style. Each impressive three-light candelabra retains the original hallmarked detachable push fit scrolling arms embellished with bands of tooled decoration in addition to cast and applied rosette and scroll leaf motifs. The branches (labra) support three swept square capitals ornamented with applied swagged bud designs flanked with bands of bead and bud decoration. The capitals are fitted with the original hallmarked push fit sconces embellished with embossed bud and bead border to the rim. Each capital surmounts an impressive square drip pan, featuring identical ornamentation to that of the sconces. These versatile Victorian candelabra can be used as candlesticks once the arms are detached. Each panel of the tapering column is ornamented with a ribbon bow accented with a suspended floral rosette and bud festoon. The swept upper and lower portions of each knopped column is embellished with an applied leaf design to each corner. The plain square swept foot is encompassed with two applied bands of floral rosette and bud swag ornamentation, flanked with bead decorated borders.
