Pair English Victorian Silverplated Wine Champagne Bottle Decanter Coasters 1839

About the Item

An Absolutely Stunning Pair of English Regency Style Silver Plated on Copper Bottler or Wine Champagne Coaster of Exceptional Quality and unusually heavy gauge Silver. Dated 1839, early Victorian Each of traditional circular form with stylish Acanthus Leaf decorative banded rim above a plain outturned body, original turned polished wood bases complete with original buttons which are Sterling. Hallmarks for Birmingham Assay office and dated 1839, makers mark is indistinct. Height: (entire) 2” (5cm). Width: (at widest area) 7.25” (18.5). Depth: (at widest area) 7.25” (18.5cm). Condition: Good condition with no evidence of any restoration, professionally re-silver plated, the baize underneath has been replaced which is nicely done. No makers mark visible however because of the quality we would firmly attribute these to English Silversmith James Dixon. Location: Dublin City, Ireland.
