Pair of Antique Vienna Biedermeier Silver Candleholders, Dated 1840

About the Item
Two baluster-shaped candleholders on a round, broad base, smooth finish with embossed and chased flower, leaf tendril and rocailles decoration on the base and bulge rings, achantus leaves on the lower part of the shaft, slightly flared vase-shaped spouts with chiselled palmette ribbon.
Finest work by the Viennese silversmith Josef Reiner.
Branded by the Wheel mark, Austrian official hallmark: 13 Lot silver, dated 1840
Master's stamp: 'J.REINER' - for JOSEF REINER, authorization in Vienna from 1822, master's right from 1826.
