Pair of Historicism Glass Carafes with Silver Mounts and Pull Mechanism, Germany

About the Item

Two carafes made of clear glass with a spherical body on a flush stand with an incised bottom star, the surface alternately decorated with a cut diamond pattern and olive carving and dividing the body into six vertical segments, slightly raised, slender neck with corner cut, silver fittings at the foot of the neck in the form of a ring with serrated edges and pearl band, silver fittings at the upper end of the neck with wide spout with lid + thumb rest, decorated with serrated band, pearl bands and chasing, raised, curved handle with additional pull bar for mechanical opening of the spout lid, gilding on the inside of spout and lid. Dimensions: height: 32.5 cm / 12.79 in width: 16.5 cm / 5.51 in depth: 14.0 cm / 6.49 in Hallmarks: 12 - for 12 Lot, in Germany until ca. 1888 2030 - model number Condition: very well maintained, silver cleaned and polished, glass in good condition, slight signs of wear consistent with age.
