Silver basket with blue glass, by Richard Morton & Co, Sheffield, 1776 Silver basket on a round foot, openwork silver with acanthus leaves. The edge and the handle with pearl edge decorated. On the base and engraving of a crest (an arm with an ax in hand). The basket is 16 cm high and 8 cm diagonal. The weight in total is 339 grams.

    This extremely fine George III neoclassical antique sterling silver bread basket was made in Sheffield in 1777 by Richard Morton & Company. This beautiful basket stands on a flared beaded foot pierced with arched vertical pails.
