Sterling & Enamel Perfume Bottle

About the Item

Being offered is a lovely perfume bottle by the Hawkes Glass Company. It has a sterling silver enamel stopper and crystal bottle. The glass has acid-etched flowers and leaves going around the body. The enamel is a powder blue; soft and feminine. A great decorative accessory for your vanity or even powder room. A little background information about the Hawkes Glass Company. Based in Corning, NY, T.G. Hawkes & Co. (c.1880-1959) was established by Thomas Gibbons Hawkes (1846-1913). Born in Ireland, Hawkes immigrated to Brooklyn in 1862, then moved to Corning, opening his own cut glass firm in 1880. His firm, T.G. Hawkes & Co., soon became famous for quality wares. Hawkes' glassware was used in the White House from 1885 until 1938. Hawkes pieces can be found in museums world-wide.
