Victorian, sterling silver jewelry/trinkets box with hinged lid, Birmingham, England, year hallmarked for 1898, H. Matthews - maker. Lined with burgundy velvet. Underside of sterling silver hinged lid is gilded. Measures 4 3/4 inches wide x 2 inches deep x 1 1/2 inches high. Lovely floral design. Vacant cartouche. Underside of box is also sterling silver. Weighs 2.745 troy ounces. Dark spots in photos are reflections. Very good antique condition.
