About

An exceptional, fine and impressive vintage Elizabeth II English sterling silver hip flask made by Charles S Green & Co Ltd; part of our wine and drinks related silverware collection. This exceptional vintage Elizabeth II sterling silver hip flask has a rectangular form with rounded corners. This impressive flask has a subtly curved form proffering a comfortable fit in the majority of pockets. The surface of the flask is plain and unembellished. This plain sterling silver hip flask is fitted with a screw fit cover encircled with a band of applied ribbed decoration. This flask has been tested and is water tight. To ensure the flask remains water tight, the cork should be moist and therefore fully expanded to provide an effective seal. There are two recommended methods to ensure the cork does not dry out and shrink: Method One: Keep fluid in the flask at all times, and keep the flask on its side to ensure the cork remains wet. Method Two: Fill the flask to the brim with fluid and close. Leave it like this over night, or 24 hours if possible, before use. Condition This plain sterling silver hip flask is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The flask has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the flask and part hallmarks to the underside are all very clear; the maker's mark to the body has wear in keeping with age and location. Dimensions Height 14cm/5.5" Width 9.5cm/3.7" Depth 2cm/0.8" Weight 7.4 troy ounces/229g Maker: Charles S Green & Co Ltd Date: 1962 Origin: Birmingham, England Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of vintage silverware.
