Antique Late 18th Century Hand-Forged Cheese Cutter / Knife Museum Quality 1794

About the Item

Possibly the oldest cheese cutter in the world. This hand forged 18th century cheese cutter with wooden handles is in excellent condition. Because of the heart shape between the two pair of initials this typical Dutch cheese cutter may have been presented as a wedding gift in 1794. At least one of the newlyweds would have been a chease maker or trader and this unique and hand-crafted and hand-forged piece would have been rather expensive. Because of it's rarity and great condition a dairy museum in Belgium showed interest, but their offer was an insult to the history, rarity and meaning of this one of a kind antique. We have sold to museums before, but they made respectable and serious offers. If you like this rare and meaningful cheese cutter as much as we do then you will love our price. Especially when taken into account that perfect packing and worldwide delivery from our store to your door in just 4 days are complimentary. Maximum width x height: 9.4 x 8.2 inches. Worldwide delivery from our store to your door in 1 day is free. We have a passion for the unique, for quality, for stylish and meaningful and for craftsmanship of years gone by. Your purchases will be extremely well packaged and we look forward to serving you (again). You can shop all our 1000+ listings by pushing the button that reads 'View All From Seller'.
