An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver napkin ring; an addition to our christening silverware collection
This exceptional antique George V sterling silver napkin ring has a cylindrical form.
The surface of this antique silver napkin holder is embellished with embossed and chased decoration depicting a linear array of two illustrative figures and four wild animals; such a frieze of figures may reflect the biblical story of Noah's Ark.
The upper and lower rims are encompassed with applied borders.
This exceptional napkin ring was crafted by the renowned silversmiths William Hutton & Sons Ltd.
Condition
This antique silver napkin holder is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and is in exceptional condition.
The embossed and chased decoration is very sharp.
Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the napkin ring are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of antique silverware.

This service will have been retailed as a complete set and between the dates stated. The stainless steel blades of the original composite handled table and dessert knives bear the mark 'By Appointment to the Late King George V, Viners Ltd, Sheffield' accented with 'Stainless Deluxe'. This impressive canteen of cutlery is fitted to the original, fine and impressive oak three draw canteen table; this is an impressive piece of furniture in its own right. The table is fitted with a pair of Art Deco style gilt metal handles to each drawer, in addition to plain escutcheons. This exceptional cutlery table is supported by four plain legs with tapering knopped feet.
