Antique Sterling Silver Tartlet Servers by Omar Ramsden

About the Item

An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of antique Edward VIII English sterling silver Arts & Crafts tartlet servers made by Omar Ramsden – boxed, an addition to our silver flatware collection. These exceptional antique Edward VIII sterling silver tartlet servers have shaped rounded blade, all in the iconic Arts & Crafts style. The surface of each subtly convex blade has a planished finish. Each exceptional server handle has a ribbed stem to a volute scrolling terminal; this handle style is a variant of Onslow pattern. These antique sterling silver tartlet servers are fitted to the original hinged wooden box with satin and velvet lined interior, securing with two hinged catches. The interior of the box bears the retailer's mark 'Omar Ramsden, Artist Goldsmith, London England'. These impressive servers were hand crafted by the collectable and renowned Arts & Crafts silversmith Omar Ramsden and bears the Latin engraving 'Omar Ramsden Me Fecit' - Omar Ramsden made me to the underside. This addition mark was used by Ramsden after the partnership of Ramsden & Carr, with Alwyn Carr, ended in 1919. Condition: These antique sterling silver tartlet servers are a superior gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. Full hallmarks struck to the reverse of each bowl are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the superior gauge of silver. Reflections in photography may detract from the true representation of these pieces of antique silverware.
