About the Item
A fine antique Victorian English sterling silver novelty pepper Shaker in the form of a George I style chocolate pot; an addition to our silver cruet and condiments collection.
This fine antique Victorian silver pepper pot has been realistically modelled in the form of a George I style chocolate pot and has a plain tapering cylindrical design.
The surface of this silver pepper pot is plain and unembellished.
The pepper pot retains the original domed push fit hallmarked cover surmounted with a ball style finial and ornamented with pierced 'pepper' holes.
This impressive Victorian silver pepper is fitted with the original plain rounded painted wood handle.
Condition
This antique pepper pot is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the base and part hallmarks to the sleeve of the cover are all very clear; the maker's mark to the underside shows signs of wear due to location and in keeping with age.
