About the Item

Arthur Dixon, designed for Birmingham guild of handicrafts. An Arts & Crafts copper and brass jug and lid with rat tail handle. Stamped "B.G.H." on base Beautiful original chocolate patina to the metal Arthur Stansfield Dixon (1856-1929) was a founder of the Birmingham Guild of Handicraft’s. He was friends with William Morris, Charles Ashby, and Phillip Webb. Dixon trained as an architect but was also an accomplished silversmith, copper worker and designer.
