19th Century Four-Piece Wood and Hughes Repousse New York Coin Silver Tea Set
About the Item
A large, four-piece, 19th century American coin silver tea set by the renowned New York silversmiths, Wood & Hughes. A stately and impressive set.
Finely worked with repousse decoration throughout. The central cartouches each bear an early monogram. The three dimensional finials are stylized strawberries and leaves.
Each piece has a sturdy feel, bears a W&H touch mark to the base and bears an early family engraved dedication.
Measurements:
Teapot height: circa 11 1/4in.
Sugar bowl height: circa 8 in.
Creamer height: circa 7 in.
Waste bowl height: circa 5 1/2 in.
Weight: circa 73 troy ounces.
