Antique Melon Fruitwood Tea Caddy England 1790-1800

About the Item

Antique Melon fruit wood Tea Caddy Date 1790-1800 Origin English This Early fruit wood tea Caddy is in excellent condition and it has the most beautiful original patina. The hinge and front small front escutcheon are in good order and the interior has its remnants of being tin lined. The lightness in weight of this caddy makes it wonderful to hold. There are examples of these Caddies which were made 25 years later but they never matched this quality and overall look. The end of the stalk has some slight but original damage & should be 2/8ths longer. Dimensions; H 5”. x W 4 1/2”
