About the Item

A fine and impressive vintage Elizabeth II English sterling silver coffee pot, an addition to our silver teaware collection. This fine vintage Elizabeth II sterling silver coffee pot has a plain baluster shaped form onto a circular domed spreading foot. The surface of the vintage sterling silver coffee pot is plain with a band of chased Lindisfarne/Celtic style interlacing and bead ornamentation to the upper rim. This coffee pot fitted with a hallmarked domed hinged cover surmounted with the original fine and impressive carved wood finial with a central sterling silver top ornamented with a quatrefoil design and rope twist border. This vintage coffee pot retains the original plain C-shaped carved wood handle with a plain scrolling thumbpiece. The handle is fitted to sterling silver sockets embellished with chased symmetrical interlacing and scrolling decoration, in the iconic Lindisfarne style. The impressive spout is ornamented with panels of interlacing chased decoration to the lower portion in addition to an impressive Celtic dragon style design to the shaped lip. Condition: This vintage coffee pot is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The coffee pot has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. The interior of the coffee pot has been professionally cleaned and is ready for use. The chased decoration is all very sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the body show signs of wear due to location and in keeping with age. The part hallmarks to the rim of the cover are all very clear.
