Pair Antique Worcester Cups and Saucers Hand Painted Flight Barr Barr C. 1820

About the Item

Pair Antique Worcester Cups and Saucers Flight Barr Barr Circa 1820 This pair of Flight Barr Barr Worcester Porcelain cups and saucers shows the richness and precision associated with Regency Worcester porcelain. The hand painted design is elaborate, but carefully ordered. The deep royal blue ground is set off by lavish gilding, gadrooned gilt edges, and brightly painted Kakiemon style flowers in cartouches. Made circa 1820 in the “Dejeuney” pattern, the decoration reflects the English interest in seventeenth-century Japanese Kakiemon porcelain. The oval cartouches are filled with trellised flowers in red, green, gold, and blue. They stand out clearly against the cobalt blue ground. The rich gilding is especially well developed. Both saucers are impressed with the FBB mark for Flight Barr Barr Worcester. The strong color, crisp gadrooned borders, rich gilding, and excellent condition make this a beautiful and highly decorative pair.
