English 1870s Mahogany Cellarette with Banded Inlay, Splayed Legs and Casters

About the Item

An English mahogany cellarette from the second half of the 19th century with banded inlay and splayed legs raised on casters. This exquisite cellarette features a crossbanded oval top, opening to reveal a metal lined interior. The oval body is adorned with a décor of lighter colored banded inlay, whose elegant simplicity highlights the beauty of the mahogany grain. The ensemble is raised on four splayed legs raised on brass casters. Originally a wine cooler, this English mahogany cellarette, circa 1870, with its elegant inlay, warm patina and lined interior, will be a tasteful addition to any traditional home.
