About the Item
19th century oil on board of a Blacksmith
Of rectangular form, the papier Mache and ebonised cover is finely painted, covered in flowers and a circular motif to the central section in gold gilt paint. The leather binding is surprisingly still in place after all these years, with its original scripture text still intact.

Completely solid in structure and form, this item is in complete original condition and close to 150 years old. Please expect age related wear across all this item as the images aim to illustrate. The painted surface is strong in colour showing a light patina (it’s been kept in a cardboard sleeve for a long time). The leather spin is not torn but worn, there is a scratch across once face shown in the photos however the colour is still present. Its exceedingly difficult to photograph all the areas in this piece, therefore we strongly suggest reviewing all the photos provided as part of this advert and propose questions where sections are unclear to avoid disappointment.
