Antique African Currency Ring Mounted on Custom Metal Stand


An antique African copper currency ring mounted on custom metal stand. Early 20th century. Originating from Zaire, these rings represented currency and were made of copper, brass or iron. The range of sizes corresponded to each currency's value. This ring is from the Kuba tribe and is referred to as "Baule".
