Vintage Circus or Sideshow Hand-Painted Giant Clown Banner, circa 1940s

About

Vintage one of a kind circus or sideshow hand painted banner with a giant clown balancing a feather on his nose. Original paint on a light canvas sheet. The banner is stamped on the back from "Cooper Stage Equipment Service Syracuse, NY". This was found in the midwest and we were told it was used every year when the circus came to town in the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s. Cooper Stage appears to have been a supplier of curtains, banners and backdrops.
