Antique Native American Pottery Jar, San Ildefonso Pueblo, 19th Century

About the Item

19th century Native American Southwestern Polychrome Pottery Jar created at San Ildefonso Pueblo in an olla form, circa 1875-1900. Constructed by hand and finely painted with slip glazes traditional designs. The Pueblo de San Ildefonso ("Where the water cuts through") was established, circa 1300 CE. The pueblo is located along the Rio Grande Valley of New Mexico (north of Santa Fe).
