Carl-Harry Stålhane Signed Rörstrand Studio Swedish Scandinavian Midcentury Bowl

About the Item

A beautifully designed, richly, and deeply blue-colored / glazed ceramic large bowl / tray by famed Swedish designer Carl-Harry Stålhane for Rörstrand, Sweden. The craftsmanship and color are stunning. A quite hefty and sizeable work. Carl-Harry Stalhane (1920-90) was one of the leading ceramic designers in Sweden during the 20th century. He joined Rorstrand as a ceramics painter in 1939 where he worked with a number of prominent designers including acting as an assistant to famed artist Gunnar Nylund. Stalhane became well known in the 1950s for his biomorphic-shaped vessels and use of hares fur glazes. Signed and marked by Stalhane on the base with his traditional "CHS" and crown / Rorstrand mark. Would make for a great addition to any Mid-Century Modern pottery and ceramics collection or wonderful stand-alone piece in about any setting, modern or otherwise. Dimensions: 2" high, 12" wide, 7.75" deep.
