Early 19th Century French Double Sided Marquetry Game Box with Checker Pieces

About

This early 19th century walnut and ebonized pear wood marquetry game board is double sided and features a chess and checker board playing surface on one side and a more traditional 10 x 10 draughts board on the other side. Two sliding compartments on the traditional side open to allow access to the dark and light checker playing pieces. A hand forged eyelet at the top allows this piece to be hung on the wall, circa 1830.
