Carved Vintage Canister with Cannibals, Brain Eaters

About the Item

A hand carved wooden canister or jar with occult - ritualistic motifs. The lid/front depicts a couple of persons eatings the brain of a cross sected/half human head. The bottom part is aggressively cut in a geometric pattern and with alluring faces popping out here and there. A very unusual item carved in a very hard, dense and heavy wood type. Whether or not this item originates from Papa New Guinea or South America we can not say for sure but we do know that it was purchased in the 70s by a Danish women. Measurements: Width: 14 cm, Depth: 9, Height: 10 cm.
