Classic Period Native American Beaded Bandolier Bag, Delaware, circa 1850

About

A Bandolier or Delaware bag dating to the Classic period (1650-1875) of Native American Indian art. Constructed circa 1850 of trade beads, red stroud cloth dyed with lac or cochineal, calico, red and blue ribbon (remnants) tin cone danglers w/ red stroud cloth yarn. Custom wall-mounted display stand is included. Measurements listed represent the dimensions of the object while on the stand. The Delaware (Lenni Lenape), originally inhabited areas of present day New Jersey, New York, Delaware and Pennsylvania.
