America's Cup Puritan
About the Item
Early America's Cup model of the Puritan of 1885. The Puritan was designed by Edward Burgess and built at the Lawley boat yard in Boston. Puritan was owned by John Malcolm Forbes, the yacht he skipped when she beat British yacht Genesta for the America's Cup. The model is detailed with binnacle, wheel, capstan, anchor, chain, rope coils, skylights, hatches and is rigged with a full suit of stitched linen sails. Measures: 56" long x 8" deep x 49" high.
