After he was injured in a logging accident in the 1930s, he broke off from the Catholic Church to join a Christian fringe group and later established a circle of followers to listen to his visions and prophecies. Towards the end of his life, he obsessively turned out images of Jesus and the Virgin Mary. These visions were expressed in wild geometric designs which used the psychedelic visual language of the period, more often associated with the rock and roll posters...
