19th Century Victorian Period Black Painted Tole Pedestal Coal Scuttle
About the Item
A stunning 19th century black painted octagonal English tole coal hod or scuttle with hinged lid. The entire box is painted in a glossy black and the top and front are decorated with hand painted floral motifs within a raised border with fine gold hand painted detailing on the outer perimeter. The sides and base of the box also have hand painted gilt stencilling that accent the borders, a pair of scrolled handles, all standing on an octagonal shaped pedestal base. Early Victorian period.

Depth: 44cm (17.3in).
This 19th century Victorian period black painted coal scuttle is in good antique condition throughout with no signs of age. This coal hod remains structurally solid and sound. Overall, a very good and fine example. Beautifully high quality painted !!!!
