About
A beautiful single door cabinet from rural southern Germany, dating circa 1820.
This cabinet is made in solid pine and is painted in a very elegant and refined manner.
It has a green base color with red paneling and is decorated with garlands and flowers.
The beautiful combination of colors and designs are visible across the entire front and both sides of the cabinet and the motifs used to reflect the folk art vocabulary of southern Germany and Switzerland.
The cabinet retains its original hinges, lock, and key.
The cabinet is a wardrobe cabinet for hanging coats. It has no shelves, but they can be made by the use of old pine on request.
Condition details: The cabinet feet have been renewed some 50 years ago. There are holes of woodworm in the top and back. These are old and the whole cabinet has been professionally treated. The paint is authentic and has some fading only on the sides of the cabinet. The cabinet is in good authentic antique condition, has a fresh wax layer and is ready for use.
Dimensions: 182.5 cm high, 107 cm wide on the hull, 115 cm wide at the top, 46 cm deep at the hull and 51 cm at the top.
