Swedish Painted Folk Art Kubbstol Chair

About the Item

Folk Art Kubbstol chair from Northern Sweden. A Kubbstol chair is made from a hollowed tree trunk; from a single piece of wood that's been hewn out to form the seat, back and frame. It's construction is rustic with a simple design. This particular piece is made from a large log of northern Swedish pine. Dated from the early 1900's, the chair has original blue paint decorated with flowers.

Refinished. Wear consistent with age and use. The chair was over painted with newer layer of colour and it has been carefully hand scraped to its original colour and decorations.
