Sergio Bustamante is a Mexican Artist and sculptor. He began with paintings and papier mache figures, inaugurating the first exhibit of his works at the Galeria Misracha in Mexico City in 1966. While Bustamante's works initially focused on painting and papier mâché, his talents led, in the mid-1970s, to the creation of sculptures in wood and bronze, many reflecting animal themes.

Sergio Bustamante
Sergio Bustamante studied architecture at the University of Guadalajara, and sold his artwork while in school, beginning in 1960. After graduating, he worked with local ceramicists, eventually opening his studio. In 1972, Bustamante moved to Amsterdam, where he learned more about painting and design. In 1975, he established his Family Workshop Studio in Tiaquepaque, Mexico. His monumental sculptures can be found in several cities, including Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, and Tiaquepaque.
