Set of two horn spoons from the Sidamo of Ethiopia. Mounted, mid-20th century. Used in Sidamo households as spice spoons. Graceful in form, and with a lovely patina. One piece, on the right in the photo, has some detailed geometric patterns etched into the horn. Each is mounted on metal stand. Condition: The spoons are in good condition. Years of use has of course led to some wear, particularly to the end of the scoops. The pieces are structurally sound. Dimensions (mounted): Left 2 inches wide by 7 inches deep by 12.5 inches tall; Right 2 inches wide by 6.5 inches deep by 11 inches tall.
