Tribal 19th Century Wooden Dance Club, Samoa

A 19th century Samoan dance paddle or club.
This old dance paddle has a fine old patina and geometric form. It is known as an anave. The club has a long lozenge-shaped blade and four bilateral pairs of spikes at the junction of the blade with the shaft and was used in dances.
