1930s French Art Deco Brass Glass Chandelier Hettier & Vincent Freres Hanots

About the Item

A magnificent 1930s French Art Deco five-arm brass and moulded glass chandelier of large proportions. Although unsigned, it is almost certainly manufactured by Hettier et Vincent, as the abstract almost brutalist styling coupled with the level of attention to detail is synonymous with their work. The five sculpted arms each hold a bulb socket and glass shade whilst at the same time supporting the five peach carapace shades, all decorated with a stylised rose flower again unsigned, but most likely made by either Verrerie Des Hanots or Muller Fréres, both of whom collaborated with the company. The chandelier has been dismantled, cleaned and rebuilt, each of the ten original brass/ceramic E27 bulb sockets have been cleaned and checked then entirely rewired with new braided cable and earthed.
There are a couple of small chips to the shades, which I have shown in the last couple of images - one of which is visible from inside and out, but in our opinion doesn’t detract from the overall look of the piece.
