Finland, circa 1941. Signed with impressed manufacturer's mark to fixture: Valaistustyo AMA 500.

Aino Maria Marsio-Aalto was a Finnish architect and a key innovator of Scandinavian Modern design. The co-founder of the legendary design brand Artek, she energetically collaborated with her more famous husband Alvar Aalto on many of its most iconic designs.

- Condition:Replacements made: New period styled custom fabricated brass ceiling canopy added for mounting and hardwiring over a standard American j-box. Rewired: Rewired for 60W max e26 incandescent bulb (higher with LED); white cord and custom brass canopy. Wear consistent with age and use. Overall in good condition. Only 2 lamps shown in photos; variation in wear between each. Some scuffs, losses, bends & dings noted only for accuracy. Not UL listed, but recommended UL listing possible from authorized 3rd party vendor upon request for.
