Angelo Lelii for Arredoluce Brass Glass Chandelier Model 12578, Italy, 1959

About the Item

Rare Angelo Lelii Chandelier, model 12758, Italy circa 1950-1960 Classical chandelier designed by Angelo Lelii for Arredoluce. The composition unfolds through six opaline glass tube shades, suspending from bent brass elements. Crafted solely in brass and glass this light is clearly reminiscing or quoting a classical chandelier design yet expressing a modern approach. The chandelier is in good to very good condition with a nice patina; 2 shades bear original stickers. We cleaned and it gently and repositioned the 'arms' of the light, It can take up to 360W in total, whereas we would recommend Led's. Dimensions: 26,77" (diameter) x 24,4 (height shades only) x 43,3" (total drop) Literature: Pansera, Padan, Palmaghini- Arredoluce p.323 As the founder of Arredoluce, Angelo Lelii shaped the golden era of Italian lighting design. Collaborating with icons like Gio Ponti and the Castiglioni brothers, his avant-garde works achieved cult status. Model 12758 deliberately rejects opulent decoration in favor of geometric clarity, making it a highly coveted trophy for international mid-century art collectors today.
