Art Deco Ercole Barovier Venini Murano Glass Chandelier 1940s

About the Item

This exquisite Murano glass Art Deco chandelier, to celebrated designer Ercole Barovier, embodies the Venetian elegance and craftsmanship of the 1930s or 1940s. Its central metal frame supports an ornate upper canopy and a spherical worked glass element, from which a central stem departs. A large disc-shaped lampshade made of corrugated glass captures and diffuses light suggestively. Below it, a series of blown glass elements in the shape of a stylized flower, some illuminated, others in darker shades, create a fascinating play of light and shadow. The delicate shades and craftsmanship of the glass attest to the refinement of Art Deco design and the skill of Murano's master glassmakers, making this chandelier a true piece of luminous art.
