Baltic / Russian Style Chandelier
About the Item
The chandelier embodies some of the best design features of early 19th century Russian/Baltic chandeliers, featuring cobalt blue glass around the central stem; a top spray of curved gilded rods terminating in almond and round shaped cut crystals; a large gilded brass/bronze central band from which a number of large round tapered crystal chains are attached. It is believed that all/most of the elements of this chandelier were manufactured in the late 19th century. The chandelier is now lit internally with six electric sockets, three pointing up and three pointing down.
