The Bestlite BL9 Pendant in four sizes and in a numerous of finishes was designed in 1930 by the Bauhaus influenced British designer Robert Dudley best. With its great heritage and contemporary look, the BL9 Pendant is a coveted design worldwide. Putting the simple yet Classic lamp shade in focus, characteristic for the whole collection, the BL9 Pendant gives a directed light perfectly suited for kitchen and dining settings in any interior style. The Bestlite lamp design was first adopted by garages and the Royal Air Force engineering departments due to its great functionality. A feature in Architects Journal lauding Bestlite with the title of the first evidence of Bauhaus in Britain brought the lamp to the attention of the design conscious. Public demand for the Bestlite lamps soon followed and, when Winston Churchill personally chose the Bestlite BL1 Table Lamp for his desk, Bestlite’s iconic status was secured. The Bestlite design stays close to its Industrial roots and true to its original design. Bestlite is held in permanent collections at both the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Design Museum in London. Loved by architects, designers and design aficionados throughout its long history, today, Bestlite has become a contemporary Classic. Canopy included. The textile cord matches the shade, except full chrome which is black, all brass is golden and bone china is black with chrome rosette, or golden with brass rosette. The G-10 lamp was produced, as many of Grossman’s other work, in both America and her native Sweden, where this collection draws its features after the Swedish version. The lamp was Greta M. Grossman’s 10th product for the Swedish manufacturer Bergboms, therefore the name G-10. Canopy included. The textile cord matches the shade.
