Charles Schneider, Wide French Art Deco Pendant Chandelier, 1920

About the Item

Wide French Art Deco Pendant Chandelier by Charles Schneider, Épinay-sur-Seine (Paris), 1920s. An exceptional wide French Art Deco pendant chandelier by Charles Schneider, created in Épinay-sur-Seine near Paris during the 1920s. This authentic 1920s Art Deco lighting fixture features a superbly mottled art glass shade, crafted using Schneider’s refined technique of applying powdered pigments between two layers of glass. This complex process creates outstanding depth, subtle tonal variations, and a luminous surface that perfectly captures the elegance and innovation of French Art Deco design. The generously proportioned shade is suspended from its original solid bronze fixture. The clean, architectural lines of the bronze mount beautifully contrast with the organic movement of the glass, illustrating Schneider’s mastery of both material and form. The result is a sophisticated and timeless Art Deco pendant light, ideal for collectors and refined interiors. The shade is signed “Schneider” (see photo).
