About the Item

Danish Brutalist chain-suspended hanging lamp composed of acid-treated and torch-cut brass. This model, 'P6395', was designed by Svend Aage Holm Sorensen in the early 1960s. (Acid treated in Holm Sorensen’s special process and his signature), bringing out a wondrous specter of colors. The lamp suits many environments, from midcentury to Hollywood Regency, from Danish modern to Space Age and contemporary interior. Large pendants with a width of 40 cm and a height of 45 cm, made up twelve leaf shaped serrated brass plates. Shapes come together to create the illusion of a suspended lighting flower, and as the bulb mount is placed in the center of the lamp, the lights emits through the leaves, creating a softly diffused illumination. As the warm ambient luminance is projected onto the surroundings, it is ever so gently interrupted by a pattern of lighter spots, escaping between the leaves. The bottom is open to allow direct light to flow downward. The pendant were produced with brass chain.
