Highly decorative and beautifully shaped Art Deco alabaster pendant light from the early twentieth century.
If you are looking for a stylish light fixture with real character, then this one-light alabaster pendant could be the perfect choice. The hand-carved alabaster shade has a wonderful organic form, almost like a stylized lily or flower trumpet, with a gently waved rim and long flowing ribs running down toward the bottom finial. This gives the pendant a very elegant and sculptural presence, both with the light switched on and off.
The natural alabaster has a soft creamy white colour with warm beige tones and subtle mineral patterns throughout. In daylight the shade already has a beautiful, almost marble-like appearance, but in the evening, when the light is switched on, the stone comes to life in a way that simply cannot be captured entirely in photos. The warm light passing through the natural mineral stone creates a particularly pleasant and atmospheric glow.
The pendant comes with brass chains, a brass canopy and decorative brass mounts, all of which combine beautifully with the soft colour of the alabaster. Its practical size makes this fixture ideal for a hallway, bedroom, kitchen, landing, dining area or any other room where a stylish and atmospheric vintage pendant is needed.
