Fairy Tale and Tudor style wrought iron pendant light by Ferro Art, Spain, 1940s

About the Item

Mid-Century and Tudor Revival style wrought iron pendant light by Ferro Art (also known as Ferroarte), Spain, 1940s. Composed of a wrought iron structure with hand-crafted and welded iron branches and leaves in a totally Fairy Tale vibe. Tudor, Baroque, Rococo, Art Nouveau, Modernist, Belle Époque, Palm Beach Regency and Mid-Century Modern style. Very stylish and glamorous. This piece is very much in the style of the most iconic German designs from Hans Kögl for Maison Jansen, using always iron and brass as his main materials, and using metalwork techniques such as welded, hammered and melted, and other ones such as gilt and polished, and always hand-crafted and handmade. Very much in the style also Ferrocolor’s Spanish lamp designs, of Willy Daro's Belgium creations for Massive Lighting, and of other French brands like Maison Charles, Maison Roche, Maison Banci, Maison Le Dauphin and Maison Honoré. For three E27 bulbs (compatible with American E26 bulbs). Original electrical installation revised and reviewed, and fully operational. LED compatible. Very good condition, with small signs of wear and tear from the passage of time (see photos). A chain can be added to increase the lenght. The original gold leaf finish has almost gone, and the piece has been all varnished and repainted in white on its inner side. Little bubbles from the varnish. Note: We always try to the fullest to respect and preserve as much as possible all the original elements of each piece (wiring, lampshade, finishes...) so as not to alter the original aesthetics and so that they can continue to have another life with their intact soul. That is why sometimes certain elements can present wear and tear, but they are part of the life of each piece, always providing a very pleasant patina.
